Ryan J. Schroeder has always been a storyteller. As a child, he sprawled out on the kitchen floor and created grand adventures influenced by comic books and Saturday morning cartoons while his mother prepared dinner. In middle school and high school, he crafted tales for his friends at recess and sleepovers, always doing his best to draw out a laugh. Throughout college, the reams of paper containing stories continued to grow and, after graduation, Ryan followed his writing dreams all the way to Hollywood to try his hand at screenwriting. Now, back in the Midwest and a father of two, he writes books inspired by his children. It is Ryan’s hope that Vegetah Books can bring as much enjoyment to the families reading them as they have to his in creating them. Ryan J. Schroeder has a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison

I’m so proud of my husband and what he has accomplished with Vegetah Books.
Katie Schroeder grew up in a family of architects, painters, doodlers, and dreamers. From the time she could grip something, she carried a pencil. She illustrated her first book, “Randy the Horse” in elementary school. She has always enjoyed drawing and is delighted to find inspiration for her illustrations in her husband and kids, the most important things in her life.

I am excited for the opportunity to illustrate for Vegetah Books!
Sarah T. Gehrke is a full-time stay-at-home parent, part-time professional baker, and enjoys being artistic as much as possible in her spare time. As the daughter of an art teacher and potter, she learned early on how calming and valuable it is to spend time being creative. When approached to illustrate for Vegetah Books she was excited for the opportunity to express herself in a different way than she is used to. Sarah lives in Madison, WI with her husband, daughter, son, and two cats.
